Today we took out good ole Grandpa
his group of grumpy old fishermen. Despite
the whinning we headed up to Ano Neuvo in
calm seas and no wind. Once at the island
we boated 6 sets of Rockcod limits for the
old guys and 7 really nice Lingcod up to 15
pounds. Other than the rain the weather and
seas were great.

Today was an epic day on
the bay. The tuna were offshore and we went
out to get ours. The morning was nice and we
headed out to the 601 and found jumpers and
bait scattered everywhere. The Albacore are
here! We boated fish until the holds were full
and our arms were tired. Our best bait stop
brought 10 Albacore on board and the final talley
for the day was 30! The ride home was managable
and we made for home at 17 knots. If you have
been waiting for Tuna, now is the time to book
your charter.

Today we fished with the
Edgewater Networks team from San Jose and Ted
Nugents younger brother from Maryland. We started
out at South Rock and immediately started filling
the cooler with quality Rockfish up to 3 pounds.
The Edgewater team pulled ahead in quantity,
but that Nugent guy would not quit pulling in
a 5+ pound Black! Check

some wind in the morning.

Today we headed out with
Todd Fraser, owner of Bayside Marine. We fished
primarily off of Pajaro and the tip of the Soquel
Hole. We trolled Kajeekies and Spoons and could
not keep the Silver's off. We released 20 +
Silvers and finally got in to the Kings we were
looking for. We boated 3 nice King Salmon and
headed for the barn. The weather was perfect

area today off the Slide. We had alot of early
wind and a confused swell. The boys from Clouds
Downtown did well despite the weather and boated

Today was a great day on the Monterey
Bay !!!! Paul & Elaine from Porterville, CA
chartered the " Becky Ann ". We caught 5 Great

Day two of the 2006 Salmon
Season started off with some strong winds and
no swell. The winds layed down at about 11 am
and the fishing was good. We fished again at
Mulligans today and had 7 nice sized Salmon.

down at Mulligans. The fish were down deep in
200 feet of water. There is some nice size fish
out there for being so early in the season.
The weather has been fishable with the winds
laying down about 11am. With no idea of how

Today we had some young and
eager anglers from San Diego on the boat. We
headed up north to check the Crab pots and low
and behold we stocked up on enough crab for
a huge dinner and then some. After having the
kids gaff the buoys and crank in the crab pots
we headed inshore to find the Rock and Lingcod.
We fished off Davenport with dead squid and
found a great assortment of Blacks, Blues, Olives,
and one really nice 13 Pound Lingcod. The water
was fantastic and the weather has been incredible.

Monday we fished with Dick Star and
his crew from his church. We fished up and New
Years Island in search of big Lingcod and Rockcod.
We had some confused seas and the wind was blowing
12 - 15 knots in the morning and rose up to
20 knots in the afternoon. The whole crew on
the boat handled the less than perfect weather
well and we managed to boat 13 good sized Lingcod
and 70 assorted Rockcod.

07.29.05 Fishing Report
No reason to go out for Salmon,
so back to the Island we went. Really nice
water conditions both coming and going. The
fish obliged us today and we bagged limits
of Rock and Lingcod for 5 anglers today.
07.28.05 Fishing Report
Today we fished the Island
for Rock and Lingcod. The seas on the way
up were flat calm and we quickly boated limits
of Rock and Lingcod for our 3 anglers. The
weather and the fishing is in prime season
right now.
07.26.05 Fishing Report
The Halibut bite turned on
yesterday and today. We headed up the coast
with a fresh tank of live bait to find "the
other white meat". Fishing off of Davenport
we bagged 2 nice Halibut in 60-75 feet of
water. The Halibut went 14 and 18 pounds and
3 more were released. The water was nice with
a slight rolling swell and the ride home was
perfect as the fog lifted.
07.23.05 Fishing Report
Today's conditions were foggy
and calm all the way up to Ano. We got all
5 limits of Rock and Lingcod by 10:30 am!
The fishing is extremely consistent right
now and our dates are filling up. Book

07.22.05 Fishing Report
Back to Island again today.
The conditions were windy and lumpy but the
fishing was good. We bagged 6 limits of Rock
and Lingcod with no problem at all. This is
really the time to come fishing.
07.20.05 Fishing Report
Ano seems to the the place
to be as we quickly limited out on Rockcod
and Lingcod for the 5 anglers we had. The
weather was beautiful and the fishing is even
better.
07.18.05 Fishing Report
Once again we headed up the
coast to Ano for big Lingcod and Rockcod.
We had 6 limits of Rockcod and 4 nice Lingcod
by 10:30 am! The ride there and back was flat
calm. We tryed inside a bit for Halibut, but
didnt find any. The weather is great and its
time to come fishing.
07.17.05 Fishing Report
Today the call was for Rockcod
again but we decided to head up the hill to
New Years. The run up the coast was flat calm
and beautiful. We bagged limits of Rock and
Lingcod today for all 6 anglers. The action
up at the island is really consistent.
07.16.05 Fishing Report
We headed out again for Rock
and Lingcod today under beautiful weather.
We fished out at South Rock and bagged 4 limits
of Rockcod and 2 Lings. Back in the harbor
by noon with a cooler full of fresh filets.
The action inshore is great right now and
the weather is even better.
07.15.05 Fishing Report
Rockcod was the calling for
today and we fished right out in front of
the Lighthouse. We boated 70 assorted Rockcod
and one really nice Lingcod by 7:30! The weather
was a good as the fishing and looks to be
holding. We did do a few drifts for Halibut
but did not find one that was willing to bite.
The local Rock and Lingcod action is hot so
book your days now.
07.12.05 Fishing Report
Today we headed out for Salmon
and fished the Soldiers Club area. The water
conditions were really nice until about 11am.
Good thing for us we had our limits of 12
Salmon by then. The fish at Soldiers are good
size with a few of the 12 over 25 pounds!

07.10.05 Fishing Report
Today we fished for Salmon
and put 2 nice ones in the boat. The bite
slowed down a bit but the water was nice.
07.07.05 Fishing Report
Today we opted for inshore
fishing because the outer waters were choppy
and rough. We fished off the Lighthouse in
90 feet of water and pulled in a very nice
24 pound Halibut. We also had some really
nice Rockcod action that was topped off by
2 big Lingcod. The water looks to be laying
down for the weekend.
07.04.05 Fishing Report
Jim Mathews and his family
decided to head out for some Rockcod and Halibut.
The conditions were not prefect for Halibut
or Rockcod due to the swell. We fished in
front of Santa Cruz in 60 feet of water drifting
for halibut. Jim's son Jack pulled in a nice
15 pound Halibut (his first) and we lost 2
more at the boat. All in all a good day out
on the water considering the conditions were
not the best. The Halibut are in and the Rockcod
and Salmon bite are all on. Time to book your
dates!
07.02.05 Fishing Report
Today we headed strait out
of Santa Cruz in search of Salmon. We fished
in 180 - 200 feet of water and trolled up
7 nice Salmon. The fish were on the wire at
100 feet and the larger ones went close to
18 pounds. Another great day out on the bay.
07.01.05 Fishing Report
Rock and Lingcod Season is
Open! We headed up the coast to Ano Nuevo
with live bait and 4 hungry anglers. We limited
out on Vermillions, Olives, Blacks and Blues
into the 7 pound range. The Lingcod at the
Island are ferocious and we bagged 8 quality
Lings to 15 pounds. The fishing at Ano is
truly spectacular. Book your trips now and
get your coolers ready.
One note: The new boat is
performing flawlessly. Check the picture page
for a shot of the cruising speed on the "short"
trip home. There was way too much action to
take any fish shots.
06.29.05 Fishing Report
Today we fished strait out
of Santa Cruz and found limits of Salmon for
6! We were fishing in 300 foot deep water
and most of the fish were trolled up from
the 80 foot mark. All our fish today were
in the 12 - 15 pound range. Norm and his family
were wonderful to fish with today and are
welcome back anytime.
06.27.05 Fishing Report
The last weekend on the bay
was wonderful. The new boat is exactly what
we had hoped for and cannot wait for Tuna
Season to work with the new front scanning
sonar. The fishing for Salmon has picked up
with limits as the rule for the weekend. Most
anglers went across the bay to Point Joe and
Cypress to get the bigger fish but the Soquel
Hole and Mulligan's still gave up their share.
We had early limits over the
weekend with really nice water conditions.
Rock and Lingcod opens July 1st, so book your
dates fast.
